Friends of Wildlife Membership (Zoo, River Safari, Night Safari and Bird Park)

This year for September school holidays, we have decided to stay local. We applied for Friends for Wildlife one year membership for unlimited entry for four us to Zoo, Night Safari, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park @ $269. We also top up $20 for one year season parking at the Zoo.

Upon reaching the zoo, we got ourselves a packet of FOC chocolate milk distributed by Abbott staff.

Kids had the milk while daddy went and apply for the season parking at the membership counter. We also got our photo taken on site and got our card printed on the spot.

Happy with the FOC chocolate milk
Annual membership prices!
And we get unlimited access to all 4 parks!
With complimentary tram rides at Zoo and Bird park on weekday, and tram rides at Night Safari on all nights!
First, we went for a half day tour at the Zoo as daddy needs to work in the afternoon (love the flexibility as we do not need to rush to see all the animals in one day- we could always come back for more)

Otter ...
We are the flamingo too!
One of the reason they wanted to visit the zoo. Teacher at school has been telling them about the polar bear at the zoo!
The rhino couple that kept following one another...
This is considered a new addition as I did not see this when I visited the zoo couple of months back!

Water dispenser- GO GREEN!
Manage to catch one of the show- Rainforest Fight Back!

Half day is up and we grab a quick lunch at KFC and off to home! Tonight we are coming to Night Safari!

All sweaty!
That night, we went to Night Safari after daddy finish his work. We took the tram and go one round, we can see the animal pretty close up which is cool. Everyone is tired so we did not manage to see the Creatures of the night show. We will be back for more!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three days later, we are back to the Night Safari again. I love the night safari, it is very cooling at night and we get complimentary tram rides on all nights as some part of the safari is not accessible by walking.

We went on tram two rounds (manage to hatch a 5km Pokemon egg as well.. hehe)..

Then went for the Creatures of the night show...

Waiting for "Creatures of the night" show to begin
Another wefie..
Magnificent owl..

Another three days later, we are out for a full day River Safari cum Zoo trip. Daddy is working so it is just the three of us. We took bus to Choa Chu Kang bus interchange and from there, a direct bus 927 to the zoo.
All ready for River Safari and The Zoo
Cheeky one pretending to sleep in the bus..
Jaclyn and me...
Cheeky look!
We reach about 11 plus and the kids wanted to take photo with almost anything...

Hippo....
Crocodiles...
Huge rat...
Some board....
And more crocodiles...
River Safari is good as it is mainly covered so can visit anytime of the day....

Huge mekong cat fish...

Panda..
For lunch the kids had the panda red bean bao. For member we get 10% off the food and beverages.

With cute panda chair..
Cute bao, they enjoyed it very much
Happy girl..
After lunch, we went to toilet and they start taking photos again...

We manage to catch a glimpse of the polar bear swimming in its pool.. that is pretty cool.

I jump, i jump, i jump!
Cool...
With snake...
We did hand painting too (with a small donation to maintain the animals at the river safari)

Both of them opt for monkey...

In conjunction with school holidays, there is a small exhibit with animal made into "mummy" whereby the skin is preserved. Kids get to touch and feel how the animal skin feel like. They have otter, manatee, tuscan and catfish. The otter surprises me as its fur is really soft. Manatee is so small , contrary to what I thought.

Enjoying the tuscan's feather
She loves the otter
He likes it too.
Catfish
We fill in the famous 5 activity booklet and got ourselves a badge!

A very pretty badge. I also want!!!
Proud!
Next, we went next door to the zoo...

Jaclyn loves the hippo, we spend about 15 mins just watching hippo walking gracefully in the water.

Hippo and his many fish friends..
Tree kangaroo occupying the space where the koala used to stay..
The boy who enjoyed the kangaroo very much...
Unfortunately, the sky turned dark and it started to rain. So, we hop onto the tram and just see the animals that is accessible via the tram stop. It is almost time for the elephant show so we walk towards the elephant...

Feeding session right after the show.
After the elephant show, we continue for the pet animal show. It is mainly cats and dogs.. but they give our frisbee for the volunteer....

At the end of the show, audience get to touch the dogs...
Next up is the Splash Safari show....

While waiting, Justin finally took his Olaf out after staying in the bag for the whole trip.

Awww...so sweet

We ended our trip with dinner at Ah Meng's Restaurant. I ate Nasi Lemak and the kids had noodle soup.

Personally, I think the year pass is a pretty good deal for local Singaporean. We can go to the four parks for unlimited entry so each time we can enjoy our time observing the animals rather than rushing through to see all of them in one day. Besides, the kids loves the animals and had been pestering us to go back for more.

For tourist, there is also a 4 park passes for entry to the 4 parks in a week so if you are travelling with your kids and they love animal, it is worth to consider getting that :)
