Somerset Chansellor Court Review (Ho Chih Minh, Vietnam)

Somerset Chancellor Court is Ho Chih Minh is the service apartment/hotel which I would highly recommend if you are visiting Ho Chih Minh (previously known as Saigon).

I have stayed here on numerous occasions while visiting the city and so far, I have been very satisfied with the condition of the accommodation, price and location!

Located in District One, near to the France Embassy, it is very easy to get around the city. Taxi is abundance and there is always a couple waiting in front of the hotel and did I mention that taking a cab in the city is very easy and prices are really reasonable as well. Most reputable taxi company (Vinasun, Mai Linh) uses metered taxi so there is no worries that the driver will overcharged on the fare.

There is also a couple of nice eatery within walking distance of the hotel. Pho24 (chain restaurant serving Pho), KFC, Highland Coffee, Hua Vien Brewery and lots of other cafe around the area. 24 hours minimart is also very near the hotel.

As for the room, there is one bedroom studio, one bedroom premier, two and three bedroom apartments available. Great if you are looking for hotel with cooking, washing facilities, especially when you are travelling with family (children, elderly and all).

This time round, I travelled with one of my university friend and we got upgraded to a One Bedroom Premier Room.

The apartment basically have everything we needed.
Queen size bed (room equip with safety deposit box, bath robe, iron and ironing board, hair dryer)

Toilet with basic amenities (shower gel, toothbrush etc) and bath tub
Washer cum dryer and a drying rack with hangers at the side (if you need to wash any fragile clothing)
Living room, study room and dining table (all in one)
Living room area with TV, magazine and radio.
Kitchen
Fully equipped kitchenette (stove, fridge, oven, microwave, plates, cutlery, pots and pans, knife)

Staff is very friendly, polite and efficient inc checking us in.

The hotel also has a swimming pool and kids playroom.

Daily breakfast is complimentary with the stay and the guest could get a breakfast set of your choice (English Breakfast, Dry Ramen, Greek Yogurt with Muesli or Pancake) at MOF Cafe on top of the daily buffet breakfast (bread, coffee, tea, fruits, cereal, yogurt)

Overall, me and my friend had a great stay and has nothing to complain about the place. Wonderful experience and great place to stay with exploring and enjoying the city which I love very much!
