Indoor Wildlife Centre in UAE- a great place to escape the heat during the summer months!

It is not easy to find places to entertain the kids in the summer that doesn't involves shopping mall, indoor playground or just chilling at home with TV/games. We all would prefer to minimise screen time and kids love the nature. So, when I came across a wildlife park that is fully indoor, I make it a point to bring the kids. It is in Sharjah, google "Sharjah Desert Park" and it's about 30-40 mins drive from Dubai.

The entrance fees is AED 15 for adults and absolutely free for kids under 12 years old. Payment is made at the entrance as you drive in and you can enter the 4 sections inside in the park with the same ticket---> Arabia's Wildlife Centre, Children's Farm, Islamic Botanical Garden and Sharjah Natural History Museum.

ARABIA'S WILDLIFE CENTRE

Our favourite is the Arabia's Wildlife Centre. It exceeded our expectation. Everything is indoor and there are a wide variety of animals-- from snakes, to birds, frogs, leopards, goats etc etc.

Kids enjoyed exploring the place, getting to know the different species of animals and watching the animals move around.

The reptiles area

Aviary with lots of birds and their nests

I like the fact that the restaurant is overlooking the goats and flamingos. Food is ok , nothing great but at great prices. We had some fish biriyani(AED 25) and some chai tea (AED 2).

CHILDREN'S FARM

Kids also loved the Children's Farm. They love the fact that they can feed the animals there. Justin made a new friend too, "Frankie"! Frankie can jump really high to feed on the grass :)

Hay is provided for us to feed the animals :)

Even though the weather is really hot, we spend a good hour at the Children's Farm. We spend 15-20 mins outdoor then went indoor to do some art and craft. Went back to feed more before leaving.

SHARJAH NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

There is so much to see here and again, it's all indoor.

We learn a lot of things from the museum and it's easy to navigate, many hands on activities as well.

We learn how camel adapt itself to the desert's life

For dinosaur's lovers, there are many fossils on display and they look pretty amazing!

I love this T-rex one...
We also learn that skeleton of certain animals are not what it seems....

The snake....

Sea lion.....

Some hands on activity scanning food items

Small garden inside the museum to display different botanical species

 ISLAMIC BOTANICAL GARDEN

This place is really small and nothing much to see especially now when its summer and there is nothing much growing at the moment.

We totally enjoyed the Arabia's Wildlife Centre, Children's Farm and the museum. Everything only costs us AED 15 for adults and totally free for kids below 12 years old! Time to hit Sharjah :)

We will be back!
