September 2015- Some School Holidays Fun

This is a post-dated short blog post on what we did last September during the school holidays. It is more of a cousin bonding time whereby my kids spends time with their cousin whom they do not see often during term time.

As there are 4 kids in the house (wide range of age - from a couple of months to 4 years old), they have different sleeping, eating and drinking schedule so our outdoor activities are kept to minimum. Rather, we spend most time bonding at home over playing toys for the kids and some chatting for the adults :)

One of our lunch is spend over Kiseki buffet. It is very affordable and variety is good especially when you go for weekday lunch. Do make booking ahead as they are quite popular.

Eating buffet with so many kids definitely require time and the buffet provide us with sufficient time. We take turn to eat, and feed the kids. It was tiring but I am glad everyone had a good meal.

We even went out to shop at Ikea one of the day.... The kids get to eat some ice cream, and had fun playing with the "show room".

Lastly, we went shopping at IMM Daiso and lunch before they head back after a 2 night stay. We did not do much but am glad for the precious and rare bonding time.

Westgate Hotel Review (Ximending, Taipei, Taiwan)

We stayed in Westgate Hotel during our trip to Taipei in September 2015. Hotel is generally clean and comfortable. We opted for executive room but our only complain is there is only a really small window with no view at all. Hubby blamed the "lack of sunlight from window" causes us to wake up late everyday but I think we are just generally pretty good in sleeping. Room Room is a good size for Ximending standard. There is a queen size bed, shower, toilet, TV, and a separate living area on a platform. In room safe is provided for safekeeping of expensive items. Bed-queen size. Separate living area.. pretty cosy TV Sink Toilet with multiple cool function-heated seat etc Shower head has good water pressure but the space is quite small. I can't hang my clothes in the shower room as the water will splashes on my clothes. This is how small the shower room is... Australia in general is quite kid's friendly. From their city centre transportation to kiddy meals in restaurant. All major supermarket also features a great variety of kid's friendly snack including organic variety. Winter in Perth 2014 (Day 1 and 2)

First travel blog post on our 2 weeks trip to Perth, Australia in June/July 2014. This is our first solo family trip abroad (2 adults to 2 kids). Previously we had travel abroad with the kids but with additional help from our extended families members! Winter in Perth 2014 (Day 9 and 10)

Day 9 We love this rented holiday home, its cosy and nice. After a good night sleep, we had a quick breakfast at home (ya, it is cosy enough to call home, look little one are enjoying food on dining table!).. Our simple breakfast is milk, cereal and shortbread cookies.. :) Yummy shortbread... Boy boy loves the cereal Time to get ready to check out Busselton and its surrounding. Winter in Perth 2014 (Day 11 and 12)

Day 11 So, today we are driving back to Perth to spend the last 3 nights of our trip... And we decide to visit a few places on our way back.... First stop:  Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre.  We checked online and found that this is their opening hours... The Centre is open daily (except 25th December) as follows: October to May: 8.00am – 4.00pm June to September: 9.00am – 2.00pm Feeling hopeful (cause we haven't manage to go on a few other attractions due to the bad weather), we drove to Bunbury which is an hour drive away.  When we reached it is almost noon time and we were disappointed that no dolphin tour today due to the bad weather...We can still visit the discovery centre if we wanted to... there are some fishes in the tank and some video on the dolphin but we weren't  really interested so decided to give it a miss.  To avoid disappointment do give the centre a call before going down...Some additiona...

Kidzoona indoor playground at Jusco Bukit Indah, Johor, Malaysia.

We recently brought the kids to Kizoona at Jusco Bukit Indah. I find it very worth it in terms of the price and the facilities are also pretty good.  The place is not big but there is enough things for the kids to spend a few hours there... Includes bouncing castle, some individual shops (flower shop, cafe, supermarket for kids to play around), a big pool of ball, some cars, and a huge rolling ball-like thing where kids can go in and rotate. Fully air conditioned and there is only one entrance to go in and out. Parents can stay inside to accompany your kids at no additional charge. Just remember to bring your own socks otherwise have to purchase before going in. Toilet is not in the playground so there only cons is have to bring the kids out to toilet. Summary of my 8 days 7 nights Kaoshiong, Alishan & KenDing Trip

Spot the monkey I have flew to TaoYuan International Airport a couple of times (either visiting Taipei and surrounding, Taipei plus TaiZhong or Taipei, Yilan and Hualien). With Scoot's direct flight to KaoShiong Airport and the fact that I have not visited the Southern part of Taiwan yet, I figure it warrants a trip to explore this part of Taiwan which I have not yet visited.  A direct flight from Singapore to Kaoshiong took 4 hours and it definitely saves time compared to taking a flight to TaoYuan and change to High Speed Rail to Kaoshiong. In terms of price, it is much cheaper as well.  A quick search on internet shows that there is only two airlines that have direct SIN to KHH (Scoot and China Airline).  Scoot operates three times a week and China Airline twice a week. Tian Xia Ju Motel Review (Yilan, Taiwan)

We stayed in Tian Xia Ju Motel in Yilan for 3 nights during our trip in September 2015. It was pretty last minute when we booked and we are left with few choices. Review on TripAdvisor is good and we read about lots of free upgrade to huge room so we decided to book for the basic room. Even the basic room is huge in size compared to usual hotel. We were allocated one of the smaller room and it is already 86m2. For us who stayed in Spore, this is probably almost the size of our whole flat. So, yes we did not get upgraded :( but we are very satisfied already as this particular room has this huge sofa that is big enough for both kiddos to sleep. We requested for extra blanket for the kids. Let's take a look at the room. We stayed in Room 202 . Oasia Suites Kuala Lumpur Review

Our choice for hotel/apartment nowadays very much involve the availability of a washer/dryer especially when we travel with kids. Hence, we chanced upon Oasia Suites. They are having a mid year promotion with 45% off normal price and we thought it is a steal so we decided to give it a try.  After discount, we paid RM 246 per night inclusive of tax.  Reception Checking in process is smooth and fuss free. We were allocated a room at Level 20. I did request for a baby cot upon checking in but the staff seems to forget about it. Luckily housekeeping are quite effective, we requested for a baby cot at 11 pm when we got back from shopping and they send us one almost immediately.  The location is not very central but the hotel makes up for it by providing hotel shuttle to a couple of main place (KLCC,  Mid Valley, Pavilion, Berjaya Times Square) and various timing. Tulipmania 2015...Fairy tales unfold at Garden by The Bay, Singapore

The last time we visited Flower Dome @ Garden by The Bay is about 2 years plus ago, when I am still pregnant with Justin... Time flies, boy boy is now 28 months old, big boy already. From now till 10 May 2015, Garden by The Bay will be displaying tulips with fairy tales theme.  Fairy tales unfold at Tulipmania Entrance tickets can be purchased on-site or you could skip the Q by purchasing the tickets  online . This time round, we only purchase the tickets for Flower Dome as we had visited the Cloud Forest before. After payment is made, an email with barcode will be send to ur email and we just need to present the email at the entrance and upon scanning the bar code, we enter the Flower Dome, very fuss-free and no need for ticket collection :) Some video and photo display before entering the main Flower Dome display area There is a booth just at the entrance to the Flower Dome which gives out free paper crown for all the princess and prince out there. ...
