Kuala Lumpur Getaway October 2014--- Colmar Tropicale and KidZania (Part 2)

Today we will be hitting KidZania. I have heard many great reviews about this place and now that my kids are a little older (2 years old and 3 and 1/2 years old), it is time for us to bring them to visit.

After a quick breakfast of biscuit, milk and cheesecake (leftover from yesterday), we are on our way to KidZania.

Located in Petaling Jaya, just 10-15 minutes drive from our hotel, we reached KidZania at about 11.30am.

We were greeted warmly by the Air Asia check-in counter where we bought our "tickets". We were then given a wrist watch which is our ticket to a fun-filled day.

When we scanned in, it is like how we check in for flight. The counter will take note of how many people go in a group (e.g.: 2 adults and 2 childrens) and you can only check out with the same amount of people, this is to ensure that kids doesn't leave the building on their own.

The kids were also given a cheque with the amount of 50 kidzos (currency in Kidzania). First stop is to cash in the cheque at CIMB bank for kidzos.

Main concept here is that with the kidzos, the kids can enjoy some services (manicure, make up, learn painting etc) and by doing so, they will use up their kidzos. Once the kids ran out of money, they have to work to earn them (working as fireman, police, lawyer, doctor etc).



If you earn enough kidzos, can even buy toys in "kid's only departmental store", adults not allowed to go in.

Each "shop" has a board outside and will indicate the duration of the activities and how many kids they can accommodate each time. Will also indicate the age of kids who are suitable for that particular activity. So parents and kids can choose which activity they wanna do.

Kids were happy with the money they earn and they even gave me part of their money to me as they promise to reward mummy once they started earning money. So sweet of them!

After some hard work, time to pamper ourselves with a makeover and manicure...

1.30pm--Time for lunch. We ordered some food from the mini stall inside KidZania and while waiting for food, girl girl took the chance to make a mini pie ...

By 2.30pm, little boy already a little tired, almost time for his milk and nap. So, i bring him to play in toddler's play room which he enjoyed a lot (played for 45 minutes or so).... i guess for kids 2 years and below, they are not so suitable for the activities as parents are not allowed inside the activity room. They prefer to play with toys in playroom and parents can rest too as they are quite a number of comfortable sofas around.

Didnt manage to take pics in the children's room but the children's playroom is well equipped. There are a super huge kitchen with lots of utensil, some toys in the living room with some soft toys, a huge pool of balls and a huge air bed for kids to jump.

3.40pm--After playing and drinking milk, boy boy fall asleep soundly on the couch.

After modelling, jie jie is exhausted already. Decided that she doesn't want to do any more activities.. so we went for face painting and she loves the cupcake pic...

By now, it is 5pm and time to check out from KidZania :) The kids had fun. Hubby and me are exhausted but it is all well worth it,

Meet my friend LM for lunch at Mamma Mia Restaurant near our hotel. Food is reasonable good. Had good conversations and catch up over dinner.

Reached hotel at 8plus and after shower , the kids fall asleep a while after that. Must be exhausted after playing the whole day.

14th October 2014

Final day and it is time to go home. Woke up at 9am and after a quick breast fast (biscuit and vitagen), we checked out. 

Will be having brunch at "The Good Batch". Saw this brunch place at Facebook .. i think something like 10 Best Brunch Place in KL, so decided to give it a try. 

Parking is difficult to find as there are many eateries along the road.

I love my Portobello Road. Soft and runny poached egg and a huge grilled juicy portobello mushroom on top of crispy hash brown... perfect combination.. I love how all the eggs are perfectly poached... sinful but good!

Hubby love his Norwegian Salmon but he commented that it is a little too small for him. Smoked salmon and perfect poached egg on top of this super soft bun, served with a bed of salad....another win!!!!

After brunch, we drove all the way home.

Day 13 Today we will be driving 50 mins to the south of Perth to Rockingham. This is where we will be going on a  Dolphin Sighting Tour (Three Islands Wildlife Cruise).   Our initial plan is to go to Penguin Island but alas, it is closed from early June after the Western Australia Public Holiday to 14th September for the winter mating season. Great for family/ friends bonding- KUKUP 2 day 1 night TRIP

Situated in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia- KUKUP Fishing Village is a wonderful place for family/friends bonding.  The chalets are build on the sea and there is not much attractions around the area so basically most activities are done in or around the chalet which is great for bonding. There is no place to park the car in front of the chalet as all of the chalets are build on water, so do park your car (if you are driving) at the designated car park before the jetty. We parked at JJ Carpark (RM7 for 24 hours) and the staff send us to the jetty area using his van. We can then walk or take a boat to the chalet.  We decided to walk....and we manage to enjoyed a cooling and refreshing coconut pudding on the way... Kidzoona indoor playground at Jusco Bukit Indah, Johor, Malaysia.

We recently brought the kids to Kizoona at Jusco Bukit Indah. I find it very worth it in terms of the price and the facilities are also pretty good.  The place is not big but there is enough things for the kids to spend a few hours there... Includes bouncing castle, some individual shops (flower shop, cafe, supermarket for kids to play around), a big pool of ball, some cars, and a huge rolling ball-like thing where kids can go in and rotate. Fully air conditioned and there is only one entrance to go in and out. Parents can stay inside to accompany your kids at no additional charge. Just remember to bring your own socks otherwise have to purchase before going in. Toilet is not in the playground so there only cons is have to bring the kids out to toilet. Staycation @ Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, Singapore

How often does one step foot in Changi Airport and not catching a flight or picking someone up? For those who are staying in the east of Singapore, some might just go to the airport and enjoy their facilities, had some food, play at the playground or even do some groceries shopping. I think I am a little outdated as I did not even know that Changi Airport has NTUC as well (and their prices are not more expensive that the rest of NTUC). However, for someone like me who stay in the West, I hardly step foot at Changi Airport unless I am flying off someone or picking up someone. For me to take a MRT or drive to Changi Airport is a big commitment as it is not exactly near and there are so many nearby playground and shopping mall that I can enjoy within minutes from my house.  I hardly walk around the airport properly as I am usually rushing to catch a flight. Travel tips to Perth in Winter

My first travel post will be sharing our family winter trip in Perth.  HOW LONG TO GO: Our trip is 2 weeks long as part of it is hubby's business trip, a trip of 5-7 days will be sufficient. For those planning for a trip this June School Holiday , Perth is actually quite a nice place to go. In contrary to normal believe that weather is bad in Australia in winter, we actually find it quite cooling and not too windy or rainy as long as you avoid Busselton and Margaret River area. A day trip to Fujairah, away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai.

Half term break- a phrase uncommon to schools in Asia. We have always known all breaks as school holiday. Here in international school , there is spring break, winter break , summer break and in between there is also some short half term break. This is the kids first school holiday after starting school in April 2018 so after a busy one and a half month, kiddy have 4 days to rest. We spend the first two days hanging around the house, went to indoor playground and accompany daddy to collect his new car! With our new ride, we decided one morning to go for a day trip to a nearby emirate. Fujairah is one of the seven emirates that makes up United Arab Emirates (UAE). It lies on the East Coast of UAE along the Gulf of Oman, well known for its beaches and Hajar Mountains. Its landscape is very much different from Dubai. Winter in Perth 2014 (Day 3 and 4)

Day 3 After spending 2 days in Fremantle, we checked out of the hotel and drove into the Perth CBD area... It is about half an hour drive and our first stop is to fill our stomach at Hog's Breath, highly recommended by my ex-colleague who used to study in Perth. LEGO ---- Level Up

LEGO is one of the kids favourite pastimes (besides iPad of course, which I wouldn't let them play for too long). However, with LEGO the rule doesn't apply. As long as they finish their homework and don't fight while playing, they can play as long as they want and I do enjoy watching them play. They spend a good hour building and they start to bring in their little character (some lego ones and some from their favourite cartoon show). Then the play pretend began and that can last for hours while mummy work on her own things , win win!  We only started the kids on LEGO around 4/5 years old so we kinda skip the DUPLO stage and go straight to the classic LEGO box. Our first purchase is the lego box that is suitable for 4-99 years old so that we can play for 95 years (give or take 😜) The kids still love their classic LEGO and we have bought a couple more after that so that they can add on to their collection. Hong Kong Macao Travelogue March 2016 -Day 3

Today is more of a rest day for us (unofficial and unplanned actually). Upon waking up in the morning, I was down with diarrhoea and vomited a couple of times. Dad went for a fishing trip with my cousin today. Mum and me were supposed to be exploring the New Territories of Hong Kong, hitting the shopping mall. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well so I ended up eating medicine and slept for almost half a day. I was feeling a little better when I woke up at noon so we decided to take the ferry across Victoria Harbour to the mall opposite.  Across the harbour and we are now in New Hong Kong From our hotel which is located very conveniently on Nathan Road with lots of buses. We took Bus 1 that goes directly to the ferry terminal. Winter in MELBOURNE 2016-Day 2

The next morning, everyone wakes up, feeling energised after a good rest. We had breakfast at home and got ready by 10.30am. Drinking water while sitting on his favourite exercise bike. It is included in the 3 park passes we purchased yesterday.  Some fun facts of Southern Koalas So where is the koalas kiddo? "There! We spotted one" We spend about 1.5 hours here.
