Emirates Park Zoo @ Abu Dhabi

This year's winter is definitely longer than last year. I remember around this time last year, the weather is already very hot and I could not stay outdoor more than a few minutes as the heat comes literally from the ground, rendering umbrella useless..

I wouldn't say its cooling but the heat is still bearable that we manage to kill 3 hours at zoo on a Saturday late morning to afternoon.

We head out to Emirates Park Zoo at Abi Dhabi in the morning after breakfast at home. Its an hour drive from Dubai and just off the highway so it is very easy to reach.

We got our tickets via Entertainer so we get in with AED 70 for 4 person. Got a wrist band and off we go. They don't allow food into the zoo, only water.

We hit the petting zoo first as it is the first area nearest to the entrance.

There are tortoise, rabbit, duck, goat, hedgehog, etc.

We love zoo. Especially the little cute animals :) Justin brought a binocular so he can see the animal clearly without getting to near to them...
Cute goat lazing around...
There are a couple of station selling grass, vegetable and peanuts for little animals. We purchased the milk feed to the lamb for AED 15. They are so hungry, fighting for the milk. After the feed, we get to go in and play with the lamb for a while. Kids enjoyed the experience.

Be a good lamb...
There are also an area that has air con and we can view the animal in comfort.

We saw these twisty horn goat that is really special.

Cheetah...
The zoo was not big and we finish it in no time. They are a couple of add on activities that is optional- elephant activities , seal performance etc.

We went back to petting zoo and kids went and feed the rabbits with a pack of vegetable we bought. It was just in time for zoo scheduled tortoise feeding so we watched the tortoise eating lettuce, banana, apple and capsicum. They were eating really fast.

To end the trip, we went for zip line climb and the kids were really excited. I didn't think Justin would want to try but he said he wants without hesitation. I was quite shocked to hear that and glad that he is up to the challenge.

They get 2 rounds around the zip line for AED 30 each. First round was done with caution and second round, they are more confident and can enjoyed the zipline experience better :)

Overall, we had a great half day out at the zoo. Worth it!
