Montigo Resort Review, Batam, Indonesia

Back in April, mummy got a 2 days 1 night well deserved break in Montigo Resort with her secondary school mates. It was a great "weekend" and away from the hustle and bustle of the city and my kiddies...

Situated near NongsaPura Ferry Terminal in Batam, this is one of the two ferry routes from Singapore.

Route A takes you from HarbourFront Ferry Terminal to Sekupang Batam which is nearer to the "Batam city centre". If you would like to visit their shopping mall and go out walk walk, staying near hotel in Sekupang would be more ideal.

Route B takes you from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to NongsaPura which has nicer view resort and guests usually likes to stay in just to enjoy the facilities and have bonding time with friends and family.

Montigo Resorts are one of the better ones around NongsaPura Ferry Terminal and all rooms have private pool so you could bask in the pool all day and all night long if you would like to.

The customer service is great and I went home satisfied. We were picked up by their mini bus upon arrival at the ferry terminal and check in was seamless. While waiting for check in, we booked their popular spa services in advance in order to secure a slot and 10 minutes before our spa appointment, a buggy appeared in front of our villa to send us to the spa.

Buggy is available to all guests and they are just one phone call away.

Now, lets look at their villa.

There is three of us and we booked a two-bedroom villa.

The villa itself is very very spacious...

We have a living room which has comfortable sofa, TV and a mini kitchenette.

TV in the living area
Mini Kitchenette
Complimentary hot beverages
Just a step away from the living room, you step into your private sitting area and private infinity pool overlooking the sea.... this is the place where we spend quite a bit of our time, just dipping in the pool and enjoying a drink and chat or just lying down for a nice sun tan.
Private pool with an outdoor seating area
There are three toilets/bathroom in the villa. One of it downstairs and two upstairs inside the room.

Bathroom
There are two rooms situated on the second floor- one master bedroom and one other room with two single beds.

On the third floor (yes! there is 3 floors in the villa) is the rooftop balcony where the guests could have BBQ (need to pre-book with the reception and the staff will set it up for you).

Amenities are very well covered as well with the usual bathrobes, iron, and even some mosquitoes repellant items.

The staff will come and service the villa twice a day. Once in the morning to clean the villa and before night fall, in the evening they will come and prepare the villa for the night. Put the pillow on the bed into flat position to prepare guest for sleep and light up the electric mosquitos repellant besides doing the basic clean up.

Some anti-moisqutoes item provided by the hotel
Facilities wise....

This is the swimming pool which turns into a nice poolside bar by night time... there is only a handful of people swimming here in the daytime as each villa has their own private pool.

Swimming pool
Another swimming pool just couple of minutes from the main pool... so far did not see anyone swim here.

Tadd's of the main restaurant at Montigo which serves Indonesian food and western food. Breakfast is also served here.

There is another two options to dine- one is at Pantai which serves Chinese cuisine (We had that on the day we checked out but forget to take picture, food at Pantai is also nice and the restaurant is set in an Attap Roof House which is quite unique). The other alternative is Tiigo Pool Side with drinks and bar snacks. One could also dine in the villa by ordering room service. Do note that the room service ceases when Tadd's restaurant is serving buffet dinner (on weekend and special occasions). We wanted to had our dinner in villa but realise that the in room dining is closed during the whole dinner time as they were having buffet dinner that night. So we had to settle with the food that we bring and went out a bit later for bar snacks and drinks at Tiigo.

The girls...
As mentioned, no in room dining that night due to buffet hence our dinner :) Luckily, we all brought some snacks. We got the beer at the ferry terminal (duty free). We rented some DVD from the reception (complimentary) while having our dinner.
Our dinner...
One of the best thing to enjoy at Montigo is probably the pool. We love our private pool and spend a lot of time there. We dip in the pool after lunch and catch up on our life and then again at night after dinner before our midnight drink at the bar.
Enjoying view from our own private pool
Loving this view! I could wake up to this everyday
One thing not to be missed is the lovely massage. There is different type of massage oil available to suits all. If you are allergic to the oil, they offer cream as alternative. Price wise will be more expensive that the massage in Batam city centre.
Massage time...
As night fall, the place to go to is the Tiigo Beach Club. You can see people swimming in the pool in their giant unicorn float which is like super "IN" nowadays.

We had some drinks and hot food while enjoying the music from the DJ.

After a good night sleep, breakfast is served at Tadd's restaurant...

After breakfast ,we spend some time walking along the jetty and taking in the breeze and view.
Love this view...

View of our resorts from the jetty

And we took the buggy back cause we are lazy to walk..
We then dipped in our private pool again and blasting some music before shower and checked out. The mini bus drove us back to the jetty and a 30 minutes ferry ride took us back to reality :)

Time to go home....
Overall, it was a good trip and highly recommended for couple, bunch of friends or even a short family getaway. Thumbs up to Montigo Resort!
